About National Care Leavers' Week

National Care Leavers' Week 2018  REACH FOR THE SKY
24th - 31st October

National Care Leavers’ Week is about highlighting the needs of
care leavers, and encouraging the agencies responsible for looking after them to work in a coordinated and effective way.
The week is also about focussing
the minds of politicians on the lack of support for uniquely vulnerable individuals and raising public awareness about an invisible minority who face a particular set of challenges as thei enter adult life. As well as being uniquely vulnerable young adults who were raised in public care are unique individuals with unique aspirations  and talents. NCLW shines a lIght on those who struggle, and those who suceed. It’s easy to brush them, their problems, and their achievments under the carpet - we are determined not to let that happen.
