New Belongings

New Belongings was announced on 2 May 2013 by Children’s Minister Edward Timpson and partner authorities joined with the project team and invited guests at a National launch at DfE on 2 September 2013. Children's Minister Edward Timpson said in a letter to participants "I would like to congratulate the care leavers who have been involved in every step of the concept, design and delivery of this initiative". Partner authorities working on the project are: Wirral/Stockport/ Cheshire East/Trafford,  Herefordshire, Sheffield, Walsall/Staffordshire and Portsmouth.
30 local authorites are now involved in Next Steps for New Belongings. A separate New Belongigns website will be in place by the end of September where you can follow the project in more detail and access reviews and resources from the programme.
